Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict by Laurie Viera Rigler

This story is a playful exploration of what it might be like if we could somehow transport ourselves into the world of Jane Austen’s England. The protagonist is a 21st century California girl who awakens one morning to find herself living the pampered life of a Regency socialite. Though slow to start, the novel hits its stride when our hero stops wringing her hands over her odd time-travelling dilemma and the men in her “real life” and allows herself to observe and enjoy the era in which she’s landed. Not being a die-hard Austen fan, I probably missed some of the insider humor, but it was an enjoyable read nonetheless.
